For me it's less than 10 percent. In my area it's mainly all the bypassing 500AL electric lines with no hook ups. I do use it on occasion in the older area for old gas mains that won't tone in convential ways but for the most part my area is newer gas that tones with a direct connect.

Depends on which area of the city I end up in. On call? Probably 75%.
Current area: 10-25%. Older areas: 25-50%. Mostly on Gas and H2o.

I have been attempting it on Street Lights - not much luck yet. Of course I only have an old RD 1 watt transmitter - not sure it emits a strong enough signal.

Most of my locates are inductive as they are almost all turned over as unlocatable's and they are old gas lines,
And it depends on the moisture in the ground and the type of locator you are useing.

I know, but I have never had a bleed-over damage in the 10 years I have been using the RD. But alas, when this one goes bad I will have to switch to a Rycom

Rycom POS. RD 1 watt GOOD. RD 3 watt BETTER (if you can deal with the weight). RD 5 watt AWESOME!!! (these are long gone from production sadly)

Stand up for your RD spray! I went almost 2 years damage free with one, (it would have been over 3 years if not for that damn gas service I got in a hurry a "pushed").
