    Default 810 v 850

How does the older metrotech 810 compare to the older 850?

They work almost identically, the 850 is a hair slower but the interface is the same. It works well by induction as well. It has it's purpose, and isn't the best all around tool, but is a solid locator.

850 is a poor machine inductively. I'm not saying it won't do it, but unless I can get extremely close to the target with the transmitter, I won't use it inductively. The machines are both excellent though. 850 is best for long locates and any cables. 810 is king of induction. The old machines have to calibrated correctly though, or they will work poorly. These 2 are my daily drivers.
