    i would think mostly spammers with nothing else better to do...or people googling certain words like obama or ....the like???? hate it for steve!!!

    I'd guess that most are spammers, some are search engines and the rest are legitimate members and guests.

    Is there a $ market for spreading spam if they can get setup and access areas to post commercial crap???

    What is the purpose anyway???

    I aint up on the kamikazee spammers motivation????

    I guess we all have our convictions...

    Just glad I m one of those "get along with everyone types"...

    They are going for links pointing to their sites. They put their link in their profiles and post their links on the board. This gets them more click through traffic. In addition it makes them look like an important site to the search engines so the search engines will put them higher in the search results all leading to more traffic.

    So to some extent does the extra crappy traffic at least show your site popular or not???

    And these would nt be bot systems that undermine the forum software without a true individual or human registering ???

    Its definitely a live person right???
