    Default Ads on the left

I hope the ads aren't too annoying.

No, I love them, my company shows up there quite often......

    Steve,

Do you get revenue for the ads? If so it will help pay for the site.

I hate them, but love that you (hopefully) are getting some income for the site. I KNOW you ain't getting rich off it!!
(don't sweat it, these are not bad, I already got used to it)

I do get revenue but the amount is very small. I make enough to cover the costs of hosting. That is my only concern. I put them up primarily because I was curious if putting the ads in the 'meat' of the site would make a difference. It has made a little difference but not much.

Forums aren't really known for bringing in the dough. I have another site (phentrazine.com) that gets about ten visitors a day but because of the nature of the site it gets about 4 - 5 clicks on the ads. On this site I get about 500 visitors a day and I get 3 -4 clicks a day on the ads. Some days more, some days less. it makes about 5x what this site makes. Still, it is not very much.

I know USIC1 thinks I'm running this site from the Bahamas, sitting on the beach in my board shorts and sipping on little blue drinks with umbrellas in them... well that isn't the case. I'm allergic to those little umbrellas. Something in the ink they use I think.

Edit to add: For those that are curious I can tell you that this site made $15.xx last month in revenue. I think my hosting costs are $19.95 or something like that. (Google adsense terms of service don't allow me to divulge exact amounts so that is why I used the xx's)

Yeah, and you have to be careful and not poke yourself in the eye with one of them.
