Automated Dispatch

Since the afterhours dispatch was mentioned, I figured I'd ask you guys what you thought of the new automated dispatch at CLS/SM&P ?

Personally I hate it...... The computer generated voice does not annunciate correctly, and it's about impossible to understand the message without repeating it 4-5 times. Also it does not give you the County and twp. which really sucks.

Is this a trial thing? I work for USIC and have never even heard of an automated dispatch. The only thing I need is the ticket number and half the time I don't even wait for that. When I get called I just do a beginning of day to see what I got.

It was rolled out in FL, KS, MO, MI, WI, OK, TX, IL this week.

I was just told about it at our meet yesterday and haven't actually heard it in action, but was told that you'll have an option to kick the ticket back into the system if it's not yours. Wonder where it goes from there? Will there be one dispatcher still working to handle stuff like that? Hello...Hello? lol

Oh. I'm on-call on Monday so I guess I'll see then. It's funny that I learn everything that happens in our company here.

I've been getting them during regular hours 7-5 this past week, and let me tell you, it truly sucks.... I was told by my supervisor, that this is going to be a permanent thing, and most of the current dispatch staff is going to be shown the door.

no more trying to explain to them that its not your no matter what/who else said it was

I just don't see a need for this. I get all the info. I need from the ticket.
As of now, It seems like a wast of time and money!!

So have you heard about it today since it starts here Tuesday morning? I know we all hate change so we will just have to roll with it. This will not effect the after hours calls. Decline and you will have to answer to the boss as to why you declined.

They couldn't even get things together when it was person to person calling, and now they're gonna try this automated crap? What a waste!!

BIG down side that we have found...say you get 10-20 destroyed or rush tickets for a project that you marked recently...guess what..you're getting a call for each ticket...yes 10-20 calls back to back.

another thing the computerized voice is hard to understand when giving out the address. Having to repeat it several times to attempt to understand it.
