Vacation Warning

Just to let all USIC techs know that if you have vacation or personal time saved up from last year and your anniversary hire in date is after 1 May might want to use it. Found out today that I'm going to loss 3 weeks of vacation. Can't sell it, and can't use it due to the April- June no vacation allowed months.

Ahhhhh corporate sneakyness at it's finest. A good way to save some easy money by jacking people out some vacation time. Why not just kick us all in the nutz while their at it, at least that would take my mind off of being bent over all the time.

The way the new vacation works is : 1. Any unused time you have as of 5/01/09, you keep and have until 5/1/12 to use. 2. On 5/1/09 you will receive your allotted hours in one lump sum. Those hours will be the 1st ones used after 5/1/09. Any of the new hours not used by 5/01/10 will be forfeit. Also, you will have until 10/01/09 to sell any carry-over hours you don't want to use.

Thanks spray I had our HR and DM going nuts today. I think they didn't even knew what was going on. But after many phone calls they found that they were wrong. go figure. Thanks

We just received an email this afternoon stating that all accured vacation time thru April 30th will still be able to be used. This was just changed. Originally it was not this way, but it has been fixed. May 1st will be the date everyone starts to get their paid time up front.

We will no longer be able to 'carry-over' vacation time - you must use it or lose by May 1st every year.

Well good at least they dicided to change their mind on screwing people out of their time, I can live with the rest. Still I will be eagerly awaiting the next set of changes.

Yah this whole "transition" bullshit is starting to look alot like walmarts strategy...except we are not a dime a dozen. I believe this company is setting smp up to fail catastrophically.. The absolute waste of money and contradicting statements is a joke.
