Utiliquest loses DelMarva Power contract

Utiliquest has lost the marking contract for Delmarva Power. Delmarva Power has both electric and gas to mark and is based in Delaware and crosses over into a small part of Maryland.

The new company should be picking up the business sometime around May 1st.

My Supervisor just mentioned this yesterday at our Tailgate meeting that Premier was awarded the Delmarva Contract for DE & MD. For anyone that cares, Premier has treated me good since i cam here 3 + years ago.

Overall the posts on Premier are good. Some people find fault but it is primarily that the top people are buddies and you have to be one to get to those ranks. (Workplace routine) As for treating locators and working there it seems better than most.

from what i understand, the top guys are only "buddies" because they all started out as locators 20 years ago on the same crew. seems to me they are doing something right.

Only time will tell if this will be good for you guys. It probably will be, but I wonder if it will bring you the level job satisfaction that you deserve to have.

If you are leaving Utiliquest for another locating job and also NOT going to USIC then you might be in better shape.

UtiliQuest will fall soon!!! Very soon, No company can withstand the devistating lose of revenue and continue. DYCOM has deep pocket. they are publicly traded and I don't see them poring money into such a LOSER!!!!!!! UtiliQuest Sucks....

It was only a matter of time that utiliquest of the Delmarva are was going to lose the contract. The company as gone to shit, from when the started drive cam the the computer tracker, then to gps, and to e-stech. Dycom has all this money to dish into there pockets for all that shit and a waste of time and only bring there locating
Percentage down and let alone bring the moral of them center down but that's all due to the lack of poor management and that is the reason they lost there contract. I would never go back to work for that shut hole of a company I'm happy right where I'm at.

Yes Premiers TOP will regal you with stories from when they located and were LEFT alone (they USE GPS to track now), when they had UNLIMITED overtime (they question every bit of it now), when they made money hand over fist (they give out .25 raises now)

What they won't tell you is 3 quarters of them WOULDN'T survive their own damage policies if they were in place when THEY located but, YOU BETTER be able too. If YOU call them out on anything and CAN PROVE IT, you are an ENEMY and will be treated as such while being put under a microscope.
