    Default USIC Reorganization

Looks like some of the Big Boys are taking it in the shorts! Of course , I'm waiting for the other shoe to fall, although we are hearing there's a hiring freeze on so it looks like OT for a while longer.

I'm just glad I'm "just a locator". It seems like if your a DM or up your position can change every few months.

Many of the middle management were either let go or demoted. Many of the snapshot guys are gone. Several SDO's are now "General Managers" There are many DM's that are now supervisors (Mostly to the south and west). Northern areas are staying the same except Illinois and Indiana. Some states condensed from several DM's to a DM and general manager. Basically 1/3 of all middle management went bye bye. The email came out on the 7th of this month on the reorganization.

Well, for one thing I guess it proves you shouldn't look at management as necessarily being a step up. A step towards the door, maybe. I mean, how would you like to be a guy who started out as a dirt painter, and after working your hiney off and kissing a lot of hiney, you get to sit on your hiney in an office and dictate to the unwashed masses out here doing all the work. Now you're an ass-kisser, AND fired / demoted. That must really suck.

I say, aspire no further than supervisor. Maybe.

I would not recomend supervisor unless you want a pay cut. (no o.t.)

I heard John Barrett resigned today - didn't like the demotion from VP. Our ex DM here in Dallas is taking a Supervisor's job as soon as he can be trained.

I'd have to imagine in the next few weeks there will be more resignations to come. In most cases a demotion means less pay and more work.

Losing John is a huge blow to the companies long term planning, Ryan Hyman and he were excellent upper management people who understood the common locator. Losing both is not good in my opinion.

AND Ryan was the worse IT manager I have ever seen. I remember in the early days when we wnt to computers. He had applications running on the guest account for NT. What a moron. That is the first account you are taught to disable. But he made it all the way to VP. Personally I am glad he is gone. We got hacked a few years ago by some person out of Canada which redirected our website to a porn site instead. Not one but twice by the same person. And it was done by the guest account. Great thinking Ryan!!!

Respectfully disagree, Ryan was the brains behind every great IT project SM&P ever had, every thing this company ever did pro actively in IT that USIC has adopted as protocol came from Ryans ideas. I give the man a huge kudo's and I am sure any person who spent time with him and understood who he was and how passionate he was to make SM&P great would agree with me.
