    Default USIC in the news

I just read a press release regarding a contract between USIC and the Communications Workers of America expiring. Here's the link.

Any body know what's going on???

Yea, thats here in PA...USIC wants to take away a lot from us and its not going over very well. Add in the shitty management we got in the past year and we are ready for a fight...I'm really not for the union but with the way things are we gotta do what we have to in order to take care of ourselves. Whats funny is that a majority of us were ready to vote this union out mid 2008 till all fell apart. Now we will grieve, grieve, grieve. Its amazing how this state was destroyed in a year.

Wow. I'm sorry it's come to this.

If you don't mind me asking, and aren't concerned about who reads the post...what happened? I've talked negatively about union representation on this site, and I've always thought there were other ways to handle things. What led to such a poor working environment that you now have to risk a potential walk-out?
