    When I was working in North Carolina I met a number of USIC locators. They said their pay and benefits were good and were treated well. They got good pay and benefits when they unionized. Then a campaign was mounted by fellow locators to vote to leave the union because the pay, benefits and treatment were good and a union was not needed and paying dues was a waste. They told me that since leaving the union pay, benefits and treatment were getting worse.

    So a question for the USIC locators; How many of the locators who started the anti-union campaign were promoted to management?

    I am starting to think companies get a tax write off or something for hiring so many people over and over and over .....so it doesn't matter how many people they keep for the long haul .

    No tax break, just poor management. You will notice most companies with high employee loss rate have high retention of management, especially upper management.

    A miss mark can be just an error. But if the marks are off and there are detailed drawing available indicating an error has been made and nothing done or that the drawings were never used the legal term Depraved Indifference is applied. Deprave Indiference is when a person who other people are dependent on for their safety ignores their responsibility and their is resultant injury or death the injury is not by accident. In this case the locator could be facing charges from manslaughter to homicide.

    Read your prints, be sure of your marks. If in doubt make a record, such as a company email with a BCC, blind carbon copy, to your private email account detailing that the marks need to be checked.
