Default HUGE pay and benefits cuts at Utiliquest????

Our firm just got a LOT of job inquires from Utiliquest locators.

    They are reporting that;

    1) Bonus program eliminated.

    2) Vacation capped at one week for all locators regardless of length of service, all balance of earned vacation above one week taken away.

    3) Holidays no longer paid. Well not no longer paid but - Holiday pay is reduced to 50 cents for each of the eight hours ($4) or 50 cents daily.
(My take if this is true so they can still advertise paid holidays for job recruitment)

    4) Health insurance. Unclear here, something about having to pay full rice first three doctors visits or something with deductible.

I am just saying this is what Utilquest locator have been telling our people as to why they wish to leave Utiliquest. Most of this is so ridiculous that I would dismiss it offhand if it were not Utiliquest.

So I am inviting replies from Utiliquest locators as to what is happening. Also for these people to ask around a bit. When I worked there such changes were often 'announced' by putting them on a clipboard hung on the office wall. The really bad announcements were put underneath all the most recent announcements.

    # 2 was put into affect at the same time as # 1 ( #1 as consolation ) although # 1 MAY ? be getting abused or just be plain to generous - so it MAY ? be up in the air...

that is closer to the facts...

not that I am a source of truth in fact... I do have a reputation that is less than exceptional on here which brings me to...

I would like to sequester Ifindit to the floor on his standing of the issue as we may hopefully stand side by side in promoting this issue... Anyone familiar on contacting him please bring this topic to his attention...

I found your reply disjointed and I can make no sense of it. I am just putting these questions forward for clarification as that is what a number of Utiliquest locators are saying as they come to us resume in hand.

So I am looking for confirmation or denial, not making a statement of fact.

alrighty then - company policies are confidential so writing in tongues may come across that way - disjointed, I spose...

hopefully that's not to hard to decipher...

Pay and benefits are not policy and the answers to the questions are general and not confidential. Many firms have prohibitions against stating individual salaries but this is asking about holiday pay, vacation benefits, health insurance and bonus program. All need be answered when asked by any job prospect and none are considered confidential.

Of course some companies will bully or fire employees who openly speak of things, even publicly known things, they do not wish discussed.

Well first I wonder if it is happening like this at all.
I have no reason to disbelieve the intent of the unsolicited job prospects coming to us from Utiliquest. But sometimes information gets confused as it travels around.

I guess if I intended to want work with another prospective employer in the interview process I would nt exactly make the current place out to favorable.... Because that downright would nt make sense to want to leave...

I can tell you 1 is BS 2 is true 3 is BS and 4 sounds like a disjointed example of meeting a deductible that involves most businesses standard health insurance plans - paying an up front annual deductible then after that an 80-20 or 90-10 for certain practices and a co-pay...

Why we need current data, not three years ago. I spoke with a Maryland Utiliquest locator last year and was told they had a bonus program. Did not get the details of how it worked. I also heard this year the same program was in Virginia.

So one of the questions is, did they just shut down the bonus program?

That's good ther hear, pay in the industry tends to be too low as it is.

A suggestion, ask and ask until a non-evasive answer is given. Ask if the bonus program has been ended or scheduled to end. Utiliquest is notorious for makeing unannounced changes.

    Thanks.
