Hey UULC, seeing how Christmas is on a Sunday, I would think we'll have Monday off. With no pay of course!!!
And just think, even freaken Bob Kratchet got paid by Scroogg for his day off for Christmas!!!!![]()
Yea, I just found out we will have both mondays off without pay as everyone else. Go figure.
Where I work now is open 24/7,365 days a year, and Christmas Eve and Christmas day are both paid holidays for me, so I will work Sat. the 24th and get paid twenty hours for eight hours work, and Sunday is my normal day off, so I will get paid 8 for a day that I would normally get nothing for. The scenario is repeated for New Years, as both days are paid holidays as well.
Here at USIC we get paid both mondays for xmas and new years. Guess everything isnt bad here.

My schedule was set earlier this year. I am off both holidays and the following Monday . I am only paid for the Monday's.
Just got an e-notice that we are now to take off friday and monday with no pay unless you have time.
I get half a day Friday and both Monday and Tuesday and following Monday ...all paid...
Rub it in E. You must not work for a contract locating company do ya? If so I need to come and work for your company.
If I wasn't off on vacation already, I would have half a day friday, all of monday, and Tuesday. Half of next friday and all of next monday off. Unfortunately, I have to use some of these 180 or so vacation hours before I lose them =)

Here at S&N Locating, Virginia, we have Monday the 26th off with pay.
We are also have scheduled as holiday Friday the 23rd. But this 23rd Miss Utility is open here so we need a skeleton crew to come in. Plus to get Friday off your work has to be caught up including tickets due Tuesday morning the 27th. Anybody who had to come in Friday, most people did not, got holiday pay plus paid for the hours worked.
I was in Friday assisting locators at some sites, running a couple of emergencies and delivering a job application to someone who inquired.
Here at USIC we have the 26th off paid, and same for the 2nd, but get this. Geniuses over here figured out a way to screw guys out of holiday pay by throwing them on lay-off for two weeks and then bringing them back after the holiday so they don't have to pay the holiday pay to them. Just another way to save a buck at the expense of their hard working employees. Used to be they wanted to take care of their people during the winter to ensure they came back but not anymore!!! Anyway Merry Christmas all and happy New Year!!!![]()
