Smile FPL Fibernet in Florida Going out to Bid Again

I heard rumor that FPL Fibernet in Florida Going out to Bid Again. USIC now locates it but they are having way too many damages. FPL & FPL Fibernet want a sole source locating company. Our company is now in a position to bid on the contract since we were acquired by S&N Communication.

    More to come next year.

Something to remember, if it is usually on the Vine it comes to fruitation at some point. just sayin

To my understanding the power side of FPL want the contract to run its course. When the contract comes up to bib again I am sure we will bid on it now. There has been some major damages on the Fibernet side and they are upset with USIC and the damages.

This is just my opinon and in no way reflects my employer's view.

Utiliquest since it was Bryers Engineering had kept the Pepco contract, something like 30 years. But then the last straw was an electric transmission pipe type cable line getting hit. I worked for Pepco back in the 80's and then that would be a million dollar damage .

When it was byers it had an excellent training program.

But even then the integrity of the management was low. we had paper tickets, no computers. right in class we were taught how to fake the ticket so a late ticket would be recorded as done on time.

Paper timesheets as well. they were altered by the foremen before being passed on. we got all our hours / OT. But often there were 20 hour days so the time was spread out over the week so as not to show the insurance company the employees were working with too little sleep.

The long term effect of ethics like that rot the core of any company.

Speaking of the PEPCO contract, have you heard anything about the plans EXELON has going forward. I heard last week that they were looking to have just one company to do their locating once the merger is complete.
