When you are faced with possibly going to work for a small potato locating company like CoxUSI it your responsiblity to your family and yourself to investigate them in detail before making the decision. The decision made in haste can be devastating and have long felt consequences. You need to determine the financial stability of the company to insure payroll, gas, insurance and other short term responsiblities can be met. You need to know what the past history of the person running the company is so that you will not be part of a failure (as we are all creatures of habit and continue to do the same things over and over again) and you need to know if there is enough cash flow to see the company through increases in things like gas prices or construction downturns as the ticket volume will decline and with it revenue. If there is not adequate cash flow then there is probably not adequate funding to develop new business offer growth opportunities and compensation increases. This will all affect you as an employee directly and worse yet, your families.

I was thinking CH. If I lost my house and had a horde of people looking for me but wanted to save face with my business associates in the industry that did not know I lost my house, I would probably do something like this.

Lets say (soley for the sake of examples) I had a $675,000 dollar house I was foreclosed on. I would find a bigger house nearby on a street named after a ... a... a... flower! Yes! That's what I would do. Of course, it would be a house the builder could not sell because of the real estate market or power lines or something similar. Lets say something in the $849,000 range. I would offer to lease purchase the house with terms something like, oh say $16,000 down (which I would get by not paying my employees and vendors) and 4,000 or so a month (to cover the builders construction loan for twelve or twenty four months) with a percentage of that for rent and a percentage towards the purchase, with the purpose of building equity over the term of our agreement. Knowing I would not be able to finance the house after that period because my credit would have been destroyed by the foreclosure for at least seven more years. But miracles do happen! It would be a good strategy to help me hide from creditors because nothing would appear on my credit or in the registrar of deeds for the lease/purchase (Making it difficult to be found) until I could find another means of screwing the next guy!

I would probably get a house something like this one which I found on the MLS today. It is a public site and viewable by anyone. No fees or anything to search. You should take a look. http://www.ihsrealty.com/NorthCarolina/Charlotte/769012

What do you think? Is this a good idea? *This is a fictional example and any similarities between the fictional story and real life individuals is purely coincidental*

And you would not have a purely fictional flower in mind would you? Just for the sake of artistic creativity? If you do, please pm or eamil it to me. It would be appreciated by many.

AvoidDisaster, I like where your going with this. I too am on the 'vine' due to a company 'promising' all kinds of stuff with very little follow through. I've been here a year and three months after finding this outlet and telling the entire locating community here about what I and some others were going through with that company. Believe it or not this forum was VERY VERY effective in resolving the issues we had with that company. Soon after I put all the information out there (that was 100% true, no libel or slander) they stopped their operations ALL TOGETHER (at least on the level they were operating) and I haven't heard very much of them since. Also I made phone calls to my local Congressman's office and mentioned several other offices I would call if the problem wasn't resolved. My guys and I ended up very happy with the results.

If it is 100% true that CoxUSI is a shady company and hurts the people who actually do the work and makes the company money, USE THIS FORUM TO RUN THEM INTO THE GROUND! If you do it right and name names, facts and show evidence what ends up happening is you effectively cut off any future employee possibilities for that company. The more information that gets out the better, more 'former' employees get in touch with you and therefore more people for the cause. This industry is small enough that word travels and CoxUSI WILL feel the effects of your efforts. Obviously the owner knows about this (due to locatorjobs.com) and I am SURE he has heard about or has read your posts.

Think of this as the 'Locators Freedom of Information' Forum and let these shady companies and owners know that We DO KNOW what is going on and they will NOT get away with HIDING and screwing more hard working folks over.

Good for you guys! Keep up the fight and get satisfaction out of it!

Why is it SO hard for some of these people (who own companies) to understand Loyalty only goes as far as the check clearing at the end of the week? RULE number 1. Don't F**K with the paychecks. It doesn't take a business major to figure that out!

As I said, I feel for you ALL. It's a lesson that sucks to learn but it becomes so valuable down the road.

    Good luck to you.

No CH. His ex-wife left him cause he met some trash in VA and brought it into her house. That's classy. Actually convinced her his business is solvent. One of the most amusing sights I have ever seen. I have video I will mail you. Three kids of her own. Takes class to stay in another womans home with her man while she is away. Birds of a feather and all that!!

Damn, this thread could be the 'soap opera" of the forum. Maybe we should re-name it "As the Vine Twists" or "General Vine" or something of that nature!

The great thing about Forums like this, if you don't like what you are reading move along. Kinda like changing the channel on your TV if you don't like what you are seeing. Or changing the station on your radio if you don't like what you are hearing. It is called free choice. My guess is, if you are reading the thread you are intrigued by it for some reason or another. If not, ask yourself, what am I reading this for? Only you can answer that question.

Well, since I have no knowledge of the individuals involved, I have been reading this for pure enjoyment. When you are on here longer, you will realize I can pretty much find humor in anything or anyone, including myself. Also, I will sometimes invent some if I can't find it! That's the main reason I can't bring myself to Ignore the Sic1's posts

Has anyone heard how COXUSI is fairing the recession? Have they lost any contracts due to non-performance? Have they gone bankrupt? Have they been awarded any new contracts?
