    Default Crimes & Jobs

The 11 Most Dangerous Cities in America

According to the FBI, these cities have the highest overall crime rates in the United States using an Onboard Informatics analysis of the most recent seven years of crime reporting data. This data includes property crime, such as burglary and motor vehicle theft, as well as violent crime, like murder and robbery. An index score of 100 is equal to the national crime rate, meaning that Memphis, for example, with an index of 361, has a crime rate more than three times the national average.

    1. St. Louis --------------------------- 530
    2. Atlanta ----------------------------- 484
    3. Birmingham Alabama (tie) 380
    3. Orlando (tie) ---------------------- 380
    5. Detroit ------------------------------- 369
    6. Memphis --------------------------- 361
    7. Miami -------------------------------- 346
    8. Baltimore -------------------------- 339
    9. Kansas City, Missouri -------- 337
    10. Minneapolis (tie) --------------- 331
    10. Cleveland (tie) ------------------ 331

Kansas City, Missouri already has 8 murders for 2012!

The 10 Best Cities for Finding a Job

Among U.S. metropolitan areas with 200,000 people or more, here are the 10 best cities for finding a job:

    1. Fargo, N.D.
    2. Lincoln, Neb.
    3. Burlington-South Burlington, Vt.
    4. Sioux Falls, S.D.
    5. Omaha-Council Bluffs, Neb.
    6. Houma-Bayou Cane-Thibodaux, Louisiana
    7. Ann Arbor, Mich.
    8. Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn.
    9. Charlottesville, Va.
    10. Provo-Orem, Utah

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

These cities have both high and sticky unemployment ó jobless rates that are elevated and have not fallen far over the last year. Contributing to the high jobless rates in many of these cities is also a dismal housing market. Together, these create a cycle that is difficult to break. Unemployment rates are for November 2011:

    10. Brownsville-Harlingen, Texas ----------------- Unemployment Rate 11.2%
    9. Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, Calif. -- Unemployment Rate 12.4%
    8. Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton, N.C. ---------------- Unemployment Rate 11.7%
    7. Bakersfield-Delano, Calif. -------------------------- Unemployment Rate 13.4%
    6. Atlantic City-Hammonton, N.J. ------------------ Unemployment Rate 12.4%

    2. Fresno, Calif. --------------------------------------------- Unemployment Rate 15.7%
    1. Merced, Calif. -------------------------------------------- Unemployment Rate 16.9%

I can remember some of the Border cities in Texas, like Laredo, Brownsville and El Paso, having unemployment rates above 20% in the past.

Hey Buddy - Our government is run by the scum of the earth who couldn't tell the truth even if it was the easiest way out. The best examples of lying scum are the Clintons, Mr. & Mrs. Barry Soetoro and with the exception of Ron Paul, any of the elite media darlings who are competing for the Republican Party's choice to challenge Barry this November. (I've read that Jeb Bush may be drafted by the clueless GOP in August at the Convention in Tampa Bay! What-A-Joke!)

Spray, you and I both know figures can lie and liars can figure. Bureaucrats will dramatically overstate the positive and drastically understate the negative. If a person would double the published unemployment numbers, it would most likely be closer to the the truth.

I agree with the doubling of employment figures. What's happened to all of the unemployed who have run out of benefits? I know Barry isn't counting them.
On the other hand, I wouldn't automatically rule out Jeb until I heard his positions.
