Default congregating with an old friend who's turned liberal

So on Friday I saw an old friend of mine from high school, back then we pretty much didn't have any fixed political viewpoints of course so we never spoke of such things. I got a chance to talk with him in person on Friday. This is a guy who goes to school just enough so he can't fit in a job, (he could, but doesn't) he's going to school for Biology on some kind of grant. He never really did great in school at all, somehow he dug up these grants and is able to goto college over and over even after failing a few times, and stay at it. He's the same age as me, 26.

He thinks Limbaugh is a racist bigot, Obama is the best president he's ever seen, (you'll love why he thinks this, as I delved in very kindly, being a devout Republican) and also thinks George Bush ruined the country (we had a long conversation, you should have seen how his blood pressure would gradually rise when I'd bring up a touchy subject, like Obama's birth certificate or how papers he'd written in college are stricken from public record.)

Now, I don't have a problem with talking politics even if this guy's viewpoint is far left. At first, you may be a little uncomfortable but the key to talking politics when you have vastly different viewpoints is to always maintain a small sense of humor in the conversation. I do this anyways, especially if I'm friends with the person I'm talking with...seeing how everyone else views the world is always interesting, especially from a dipshit like this who never worked a month of full 8-12 hour days in his life, and seen the government taking 20% of what you earn. But back to what I was saying, I like to keep a little humor in the argument, even if it means bashing a little bit on your own party, Friday I used the trusty Sarah Palin, and how hard Katie destroyed her with those interviews, for laughs. I really do believe that Palin's the reason McCain didn't get elected, but I'm a realist and McCain would've been a risky choice with his age and the chances of the VP being the P are alot higher, obviously. Palin running the country didnt' sit well with lots of people after the interviews that got her such a bad rap.

The funniest part about the entire night is how he begged me to pull up Barry Obama's commencement speech in Arizona on my iPhone, and I kept pretending to get it to pull up and saying, 'Man, something's wrong, I can't get it up to pull up.' You should have heard the shit he was saying, 'Man, if you watch that speech you will be converted. I can really feel what he's saying.' ....JON FAVREAU WROTE his speeches for ****s sake, I told him. I'm like, "IT'S HOLLYWOOD, dickhead. No wonder you ate it up." (Favreau for those who unaware made a splash with Swingers, a good flick back in the 90s with V.Vaughn) so he went nuts disagreeing with me about Favreau being the writer when I knew for a fact that was teh guy's name....I finally looked him up on the internet and zoomed in on Favreau, and he had to digest that...Then I explained to him that it's all on a teleprompter, and asked him why he understands a guy who goes 'Uh and Umm' over and over..

This is when he said, 'Capitalism has been ****ing this country up forever, it's the most corrupt, evil system ever'

That's when I said, 'Do you know who Karl Marx is'?

He's my friend, we haven't spoken in years and he's changed a little but this degenerates been in college almost 6 years dicking around with a basic biology degree and still didn't know who Karl Marx was lol, I wanted to reach over and slap him upside the head since us locaters are PAYING FOR HIS COLLEGE with his underachieving grant-sucking ass, like an infant on a nipple who doesn't want to fall into the lap of 'Work every day for a living'. It's one thing to stay in school if you really have promise, it's another to keep getting grants and go every day just so your parents stay off your back about getting a full-time gig.

So, I tell him who Marx is...then I tell him the quote. From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs...I looked at him and said, do you know what that means? He didn't give me a clear answer. I explained to him that he doesn't understand about taxes and what it's like to work for years and see your money get pissed away on the wrong things. I explained that as an American if I contribute 20% of my money to other things, I want to see more productive things happen. I don't want my money given to other people who do not deserve it, I work too hard for my money Tyler and you wouldn't know anything about that, no offense. I have (x amount of money) in the bank Tyler, for about 2 years I've been waking up at (x amount of time) man, all to have a government take money from me and give it to someone else? There's another word for that, and it's called robbery.

Tyler looks me in the eye and says, 'who cares, help a person out. who cares if that person needs some help, help them.' I simply explained to him that his opinion on that subject is moot, since he's never worked long enough to see the kind of money the goverment takes from you, thus how could you show true concern about where that money goes, as it's never came from you.

Okay, after he called Limbaugh a racist bigot I tell this guy "Well what about Rev. Wright, Obama hung out in his church." Tyler goes, 'just for a little while, it's not like he lived here.' ...that's when I hammered him with the 20 year fact, of course he didn't believe it at first (which didn't surprise me how a basic fact slipped by this tool) I explained to him if he thinks Limbaugh is racist to listen to some tape of Wright's sermons. When I found one on the internet and compared it to 5 minutes of Rush, he said 'Yeah, they're pretty racist too.' It was obvious where the argument was heading. It was obvious that I saw a goal at that moment and it was that he had no ****ing idea about politics whatsoever, so I decided to inform this guy about the truth since he was my friend. A political conversion was about to take place, or at least I had hoped, as I decided to just counter his statements rather than make my own, to make everything he believed seem like the serious bullshit that it is. Better to counter something, than have your statement get countered, even if it is by a bullshit statement.

His next statement was about Capitalism, and how horrible it was. So I asked him, 'Do you think Socialism is better' ? He says, "No" ...I say, Obama's a socialist and a communist and you're behind him 100%, yet you sit here and tell me you prefer Capitalism to Socialism, explain that to me friend? ...He says, "Obama's not like that all the way" (I honestly couldn't believe it when he uttered it like that, at that time his presence on my porch was that of a crying infant on the road to silence)

So, I explained to him about the corrupt piles of shit Acorn, AIG, and Obama's involvement in them...I explain to him about Bill Ayers, and how good of friends he is with Obama...I explain to him about the past of Ayers and how he hangs out in Obama's living room doing book signing and etc, and who is Ayers again? Right, an insane terrorist who was never convicted who is a far, far left wing Marxist....Riiiight. Ok? Let's talk about Bill Ayers, let's talk about the birth certificate, let's talk about unveiling papers Obama wrote in college so we can really see who he is! That's why they are hidden from the public because they contain things that would reveal just HOW communist he really is, and where his TRUE WORLD VIEWS stood at that time!!! And the truth is that no matter how hard they dig, we'll never find the true documents. Maybe they'll pay someone to make them up, like they did the birth certificate.

I could go on and on, but lemme just put it like this, before the guy left, he was asking me to install my radio program on his iPhone, and plug in all my conservative talk radio for him...First guy I ever converted. ><

Hate to say it Scap and not trying to push a pro socialist agenda on you or redeem this old friends way of thinking and life-but-

    DUDE!!!

Even when your SUPPOSED BEST examples of non-socialist pro capitalist politicians were in office, this country had been operating with socialist tendencies, and policies...So, where does the future line get drawn??? Because these ways havent, and arent about to change anytime soon...Big government, handouts, excessive, and double taxation, crooked lobbying, no congressional term limits, have all existed for years decades and since our countrys founding... We dont even know the treasurys true balance sheet... Hell, if this country were a business all the executives running this establishment would have gone to jail and the key thrown away years ago...

I just thought I would clarify the understanding how an existing sociocapitalist structure already existed, rather than something new being developed...

The evolving greater socialist roll ends up being the solution to save the nations outlays vs our diminished econonmic competitiveness, since in the grand scheme of our global capitalist FREE MARKET system(whomever produces the cheapest product gets the carrot) and China is running with the ball to the point that ultimately cuts our throats, and economic bandaids end up being our only answer... Next on the defensive tactics list to buffer against our ongoing non-competitiveness are trade disputes, and currency devaluations amongst nations globally... We will curtail the inevitable collapse for awhile until a new world order evolves to reign in a new socio-capitalist environment that will be jointly organized amongst all nations(quite a nightmare but the only answer peacefully) ...Lets pray for a nuclear or environmental holocaust in the interim so ' s we wont have to go through being guinea pigs of a new global economic experiment...

    lol

USIC1.. you seriously dont belong in the US treadmill.

No wonder you get tromped on so much.

There's no place for people to be looking in from the outside.. its not the way.
Any red-blooded American would probably punch you in the yap in a bar.

The signs do point the way, but lets hope you're off base.. after all, the great white north is so tied to our southern brothers that we're gonna sink some too (hopefully at a limited depth, who knows tho..).

I hope people realize that we have to buck the trend and accept less personally. Its a shell game, but we all have to at least try to keep our money on-shore when we can. Once the global economy recognized the Euro or etc as more stable/valuable than the US greenback.. we're both screwed..
(May you live in interesting times)
