    Default Thank you!

Hey everyone, thanks for the good ideas on my other post. I realized I didn't really introduce myself though.

I've only been locating for a few weeks, but, I am sort of familliar with it, because i did fuel / utility system work when I was in the Air Force. I was an Air Force engineer for a good long time, so I have been around a lot of different aspects of this sort of stuff.

Anyway, after having a hell of a time finding a job, this locating job seems to be a pretty nice fit for me. So far I am enjoying it, learning lots, and having fun with it. I know there will be days that are NOT fun, but, as long as the good outweighs the bad, right??

Please brace yourselves, I will probably be asking some dumb questions here in the future -- and then hopefully, when I have some experience, I'll be able to answer someone else's questions!! Thanks again everyone!!!!

Welcome aboard. Ask lots of questions and sift through some of the old posts. There's alot of info around the site.

Good Luck with your new job.

    Salutations.
Character is what you are in the dark. It is the things you do, when nobody can see, and nobody will ever know, that define who you are as an individual.

The best advice anybody could give you about this job would be...

Go with the flow. Trust me on this one. You don't need me to acknowledge this. You goto the safety meetings during training, and see techs trying to fight the machine. As I'm sure you have noticed, they always lose. I call them "Tomato Cans" ......You can't fight the machine.

One more thing, and I'm only saying this because if you're worth a damn, it will help you out immensely...

Never seem to be in a hurry... hurrying betrays a lack of control over yourself and over time.... always seem patient, as if you know that everything will come to you eventually........

Tomato cans? Hahaha, but yeah I know EXACTLY what you mean. No worries, 20 years serving in the Air Force, I know how "the machine" works...

The names & faces, the missions, the equipment may change, but "the machine" is still "the machine"...

You're right on target with that advice too!! Thanks. Too early to say if I'm worth a crap at this or not, today was my first full day of "running with scissors". Time will tell!!
