Hello All,
I am doing my ride along and drug test this week and was wondering if anyone from Texas could tell me what I am in store for. I have read many of the threads and they go from good to bad and back again. I appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks

Well I'm not in texas but I do work for USIC. I could go on and on about all the bad things but you probably have already read them. Just get prepared to work a lot of over time, don't worry about gps, as long as you are doing your job you have nothing to worry about. As far as idle time goes, I receive an email weekly that I'm idling too much, but I continue to do so. The way I see it , if its hot, I'm staying cool. I even idle in my truck during my 30 minute lunch.

Yeah sounds like just about any job, they all seem to have upsides and lots of downsides. I appreciate the info, even with the bad side it should be better than current job.

One good thing about this job is that you are on your own 90% of the time. You get to manage your own work load as you see fit for the most part. Though USIC is trying to stop this by implementing "auto ticket routing" which would pretty much route your day out for you.

I am used to the micro managing from current job but at least with USIC I will not be stuck inside a concrete building 12 hours a day. Can you tell me anything about benefits? So far everyone I have talked to has never used them, and I probably will because I need insurance for my Daughter.

The insurance is a bit expensive for the family plan, so I never used it.

Ok Thanks. I am hoping since doing the ride along and drug test that means I have the job but I guess I will know for sure tomorrow.

From what I have seen there, as long as you pass the drug test, you will get a call from the supervisor for when the next training class starts.

Are you in Central TX? I just turned in my back ground info. Did it take long to here back from them? Did they give you an expected training start date?

@ HPmadness I did my ride along today but we ran out of time to do anything else so I am supposed to call and set-up time to finish tomorrow. I am a little concerned because they said next class starts Monday. I won't get much notice to give to current employer but this job will be much better than current. @amiga276 it has been a very slow process but hopefully worth it.

I have a very hard time believing that there is a job worse than working for USIC if the pay is remotely similar.

Do yourself a favor and run away as fast as you can!!!!!! You will be much happier working at McDonalds.
