some sad news about a brother

didn't know where to post this but just last year we welcomed Inspired to the forum.

the last week of june inspired had a stroke while working on a job-site, his sons actually saved his life but there will be some serious long term rehab.

billy and i have grown close in the past few years and i was responsible for his joining this forum. i stay in constant contact with his wife and get updates on his condition weekly or more often if there are drastic changes.

just thought i would post this here as it seems that everyone joins in to see who comes onboard.

That is horrible. I really hope he recovers well. My Dad had a stroke a while back. You wouldn't know it today. I hope Inspired is as fortunate.

Lets do something for him,,
Only takes a minute or 2 of your time.

Goggle up the signs of a stroke, so you can get a co-worker / etc to the hospital fast when the symptoms fit.

Wish him well for sure. How old is he Jim ?

Im coming around to 47 and starting to worry about this stuff.. could happen in a flash to the guy workin beside me.. (or even me !)

Three things to ask someone to do to check for a stroke:

1. Ask them to smile. If they cannot sign of a stroke.

2. Ask them to raise BOTH arms above their head. If they cannot sign of a stroke.

3. Ask them what day and date and about what time it is. If they do not know the day or date or they cannot get in the ballpark the time it is a sign of a stroke.

If they cannot do ANY of the three it is a stroke.

billy's just 56, clean life.

i'm waiting on an email from his wife that i will post on the vine and lawnsite.

billy was real cautious when i talked him into joining the forum, i told his wife the other day about the good wish posts here.
