    Default Newbie

    Hello all,

I will be starting week 2 of USIC's training program tomorrow and stumbled across this sight while doing some studying at home. I've always had government jobs before this, no experience in digging or utilities at all. Doing ok so far, have a 96% in class and I'm really enjoying learning about all the things I've seen but had no clue what they were or what they did. I love being outdoors so I'm hoping the change will be a great fit.

Just ignore all of the negativity from some of the others here. Make your own experience. Good luck, and stop in anytime with questions. There is a larger wealth of locating knowledge here than any other place in the entire world.

It's like with any other job. Construction crews, factories, excavators.....

If your co-workers or your supervisor sucks, then your job will suck. Every now and then, you find yourself in a team where everyone does their job and your boss supports rather than browbeats and locating can be great. You'll get frustrated early on and get totally stressed out but if you can push through that and make it through the winter months, you can go on for years.

If the stress gets too much, I would prescribe a large bottle of Reprecitol. You can find it in most stores. In the liquor isle. Has a label on it that says Jim Beam.
