Yeah, old man winter is coming and we are a little slow too. I'm not a locator - I am in underground utility construction.

All your locates are belong to us.

LOL, I've known quite a few utility locators over the years (since about 85'). I'm the one of the guys that puts in miles of fiber optic/electric/copper cable ect.. I've met some really nice people along my journey too. Its always good to see a familiar face when I show up on a new job sometimes because I know their rep and I don't have to worry about stuff being missed. I do worry about going into new area's, and I'm sure the locators feel the same way about me too. I googled this forum, saw it was vB so I signed up. Looks like a great bunch of guys/girls here.

If you read the WE-Energies thread you won't be trusting any red or yellow marks after 1-1-10.

Yeah, I saw that. That will be a treat... that guy had some balls to post that. If I had any questions or concerns on a job I would get out my little book and give someone a call. We developed a working relationship and looked out for each others. I guess some of those numbers won't do any good now.

I think the days of "Quality over Quantity" are long gone as far as those big companies go IMHO. Then those guys can say "look at the money I saved us boss".

What will you guys do now? Will you switch hats or will SM&P lay off some folks? As if you didn't have enough stress on the job already.

Those numbers still will be good if you want to jaw about the old times. Remeber SM&P still has a major presents out there. The competition will be good. As for layoffs, your from Wisconsin that usually happens around deer season. Stay warm, safe and welcome aboard.
