I see some posts that have a notation saying theyve been edited,
Ive been thru the FAQ & settings but I cant see the option anywhere,
Or is it just a moderator function ??

Sometimes i spot a typo I've made that I need to go back & fix, its this darned English -US keyboard,
wish somone would make an Aussie keyboard !! Prolly only have 2 keys yes / no

When you are logged in and read one of your own posts an "Edit Post" button is at the bottom of the window.

If the Aussies made a key board it would have more than two keys, yes / no / dammed if
    I know.

What browsers are you all using? I don't see an edit button in Firefox or Chrome... Do you have to have a certain number of posts?

I believe you only have the option to edit for a short time right after you submit your post.( edit) Yep, I was right - the Edit button is at the bottom where you choose quick response or advanced post.(edit) I was wrong, it's where you select reply or reply with quote.

I am using IE 8 and I still have the edit button on my post. I hate Chrome as it tries to take over your computer and Fire Fox never used.

I still have the options on the post from yesterday.

I have Internet Explorer too. Not sure if it's 7 or 8. Does that make the difference? There is definately NOT an edit option on my recent posts.

Not sure. Have Steve take a look at it. Also some where on here you can download Ispell for spell check.

Use Opera, the browser has a built in spell checker.

You can download spell check from the screen while you're posting before you submit reply.

I haven't looked at the user permissions for editing posts in quite a while so I was unsure what I had them set at. Apparently I had it set so people could not edit their own posts. The reason I believe is that a while back we had several people get on here and they would post stuff and then they would go back and delete their posts. I can understand that but for everyone else it is not preferable. Discussions are started and continue based on a post. If a post disappears then the whole thread has lost its 'anchor' so to speak, or it loses part of the conversation. I don't like people editing their own posts for that reason. I've had people in the past post something and then ask me to remove it because it was a mistake on their part and it would help them out be removing the post. I'll do it for that reason. Sometimes our fingers have little discretion especially after a hard day where you just can't take it anymore.

I went through the permissions again and I've reset them. You now have the opportunity to edit your posts for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes you lose that option.

Please let me know if you have problems or it isn't working.

    Thanks
    Steve
