    Default Easy fudgey Pecan Brownies

    Fudgey Pecan Brownies

    ½ cup (1 stick) butter
    1 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    2 eggs
    ½ cup all-purpose flour
    1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
    ¼ teaspoon baking powder
    ¼ teaspoon salt
    ¾ cup coarsely chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 8-9 inch square baking pan.

Beat butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl. Add eggs; beat well.

Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to egg mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in chopped pecans. Spread in prepared pan.

Bake 20-25 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.

    Meanwhile, prepare Chocolate Pecan Frosting.

Spread warm frosting over warm brownies. Garnish with some pecan halves. Cool completely & cut into squares.

    Chocolate Pecan Frosting
    1 1/3 cups powdered sugar
    2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
    3 tablespoons butter
    2 tablespoons milk
    ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
    ¼ cup chopped pecans

Place powdered sugar & cocoa in medium bowl

Heat butter and milk in small saucepan over low heat until butter is melted. Gradually beat into cocoa mixture, beating until smooth. Stir in vanilla and pecans. Spread over warm brownies

VARIATION: skip the brownies, mix the frosting, but add triple the pecans. Place blobs of frosting mix directly onto parchment paper to cool and harden. Way tasty treat on its own
