I just updated my Facebook page. I don't think I'll update the website since I'm having trouble uploading pictures. I need to get it figured out.

Check out my Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/touringtendencies

I've made it to Prineville, Oregon. If there are any CableViners in Prineville I'm staying at the RV Park on Main St. south of town. I'm in the Tent area. I'll be in and out and I'm leaving in the AM.

4 hours south of me. Last time I was there, they had an Artic Circle there... Pretty good burgers.

Hwy 1 south of San Francisco and Hwy 70 west of Denver into eastern Utah are the two most scenic stretches of road I've ever seen. Never been north of SFO but I hear Pacific Coast Hwy up there is a pretty nice ride too.

My plan is to head north out of Prineville towards Sandy then west to Tigard (Where I have friends to visit) and then west to Astoria.

Greetings Steve! Did you spend time with your Phantom 2 drone during your down time?

Man, I wish I was traveling with you. The thing is, my bike would have to have a motor on it with the governor removed............. just sayin'.

Be safe out there. Watch out for the UFOs (Ugly Faking Oriental drivers)! Luv Ya Man!

I haven't flown the drone at all. I'm afraid to crash it. Crazy, right?

I've updated the website and the facebook page if anyone is curious about my bike ride.

During my bike trip I've been keeping my eye open for Utility Locators. I've seen many locates on the roads but the people who put them there are very elusive. That is until I get to the Oregon Coast. Well, they are still elusive but I have had a couple of encounters with locators so far.

The first was on Highway 101. I see a Locating Inc. truck on the side of the road with a person in it. They had just rolled up to their locate. I ride up and tap on the window and get the locators attention. He gives me a look and then apprehensively rolls down the window. I tell him that I am an ex-locator and if he had ever heard of my website. He says no he hasn't. So I give him the 10 second promo. He tells me thanks or whatever so I ride off never expecting him to visit the site. At least I got my message out there.

The second locator I ran into... I'll not disclose his location and I'll just say that I call him the "second locator" because I'm mentioning him second. He may or may not be second. (I'm trying to protect his identity as much as possible) passed me up on Highway 101 as well. I was hoping that I would run across him later down the road. About 10 minutes later I come around a corner and I see the locating truck parked on the side of the road in a shady spot. I pull up next to it expecting to see this locator busily looking up prints, eager to hop out and do their locate. I look in the window and am just about to tap on the glass when I realize that this locator has already reclined his seat and is in full on sleep mode. I hesitate as I decide whether I want to disturb him or not. I decided to just leave him alone and I rode on. I kept an eye open hoping he would come down the road a little later on and I could talk to him. I never saw him again. Oh, well.

I have to say that it was kinda around noonish so he may have been on his lunch. I think it was 11:00 -11:30 ish. Not entirely sure. Either way, what they do on lunch is up to them.

I have about a week and a half left on my bike trip so I'm still hoping to run into a member of this site. I'm in Florence, Oregon tonight and I'll be heading to Reedsport and then Charleston over the next couple of days.
