    Default Wisconsin Flakes!

Wisconsin seeing their first flakes of the season today! Add some strong breezes with the snow will be keeping wind chill values in the 20's! The Cheeseheads are a strong breed!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! My NASCAR buddies from Clear Lake, Wisconsin said the first Wisconsin snow that sticks in the Fall does not melt until late Spring........... Not me, brother!

    Thumbs up Re: Wisconsin Flakes!

    Greetings Wingfoot!

If it was not for the Green Bay Packers, deep fried cheese curds, bear brats, Supper Clubs, Friday night fish fry's, Green Bay Packers and our fair share of corn fed Womenz, I might not love my state!

Winter does suck tho. Before I retire I am going to find an inside job and I don't care if it's burger king... Clear Lake is a cool area.

Cool here the last few days but I think warmer weather is in the forecast... then, as usual, it will get cold overnight and winter will be here.

We just had our first cold front. It got down to 64 for a low and 78 for a high. Today we are hitting the mid to upper 80's again with the humidity and the dew point high again so it will feel muggy again.

I did have the house open for a day though to air it out. Now the a/c is back on.

No kidding, we'd find Yahoo suffering hypothermia in jacket weather. You can have his summers though.

It didn't quite stick yet. I live 20 min from clear lake so I'm seeing the same weather as your friends. Ive been scraping the ice off my windows every morning this week.

My granddaddy told me when he was a kid, Florida got so sick of living between Wisconsin and Michigan that they dug up the whole state, flipped it over, and moved it south of Georgia. The hole they left filled up with rain water.

Had frost on my truck this morning for the first time. Didn't really feel that cold though.

Anybody ever heard of this old wise tale?
You know the hornets nest up in the trees? If they are close to the ground, that means a hard winter? I saw one at eye level the other day and some dude told me that means bad winter.

I heard an old saying when I was a kid that said extreme follows extreme. Meaning an extremely hot summer is followed by an extremely cold winter. Same with rain/snow. Working outside most of my adult life, I kept it in mind and it has seemed to prove true more often than not in my area (midwest) over the years. Last summer was extremely hot and humid and the winter was extremely cold and snowy.
It's not a guarantee but this summer was pretty mild in my parts so I'm hoping the winter will be too. Maybe I'm just projecting my hopes. I don't know. I'm gonna cling to them though because the thought of another winter even close to last year's polar vortex makes my sack shrivel.
