what utility we hate locating? or what type of job we hate locating?
Hydro-electric generator facility (dam)- tons of big power and tons of reinforced concrete. Great place to locate.
Basement of Hospitals.... it stinks, its stuffy, and nothing locates worth a damn.
Inside of an airport teminal.... those kinda suck. Specially if it was re-built 4 different times and all the utilities are still there.

@sling.. Im curious about that hit. So it was an abandoned 600pr that wasnt on the plats ?
Good to hear it was pulled from your record.
Situ I dont like locating in, is when its a busy locate, time consuming, and the contractor/etc stands there watching/waiting on you. I usually tell em this will take a bit, and Ill call em when Im done (they generally seem to have something to do anyhow).
(May you live in interesting times)

I don't really have a specific contractor I don't like working with but I really hate doing those mile long planning purposes(survey tickets) and the contractor won't even tell what side of the road they really need.
I'm a true believer in white lining where you want to work. Just like a ticket for planting a tree, mark entire lot. Just tell me where the damn tree is going.
VOTE FOR WHITE LINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
White Lining!! So true. Your post may be the best one I have read in a while!!
Stupid contractors.
I get a ton of Trafford tickets too... In Western PA, Trafford is the contractor for all of Dominion Peoples corrosion work. I.E. - Anodes, test Stations, etc. The tickets are always called in incorrectly, so I guess it's not an isolated thing here.
I don't know if you read the article Steve posted in the news section but it looks like Rhode Island is trying to force contractors and homeowners to white line their proposed dig areas. I don't know if we have any locators on this site from Rhode Island but if we do maybe they can let us know if it is actually working.
Here's the link to the article.
