NOCUTS,Burkeen,Utiliquest,CUS and now USIC in louisiana. The fun never ends. My questions are-
1. Do they pay weekly or biweekly?
2. Does anyone know what I'll pay for insurance for my wife and I?
3. How many days PTO days do you get a year?
Thanks for the help.

what does USIC start locators off at per hour?
Doubt that will happen. They should be treated as new hires but with experience. The most they will get is higher pay starting out. Had it been a straight buyout without a merger then I could see them keeping seniority or years of service. With a merger they will be required to start out as day 1 and build their seniority or years of service from that point forward.
Not sure what's so funny?
is it that you think $19 is low or that you don't think anyone is making $19?

Hey , thanks for all the help. I pay $250 a paycheck for insurance for just my wife and I with CUS. It HAS to be cheaper with USIC. (hopefully)
Hey guys - The locators working the shit-holes of any large metropolitan city and those who cover multiple counties deserve more per hour than those who work pockets inside of nice, clean, quiet suburbia. The USIC/SM&P pay scale has always been a secret. And for good reason. Sharing wages amongst the troops creates a lot of problems in the field and for the management-types. There are plenty of locators who desire the metro squad and county locator wages (it is more than $19 per hour), but not willing to handle any part of the bullshit these people put up with daily. If any locator feels they need more money and can handle the challenges of the 'hood, let management know immediately! But, be careful what you ask for....... Been there! Done that! Just sayin'.
Keeping pay to ones' self has always been a philosophy that has worked well for me, too. I've seen too many good locators quitting because they learned a noob was hired on making more money per hour then they are making. Once the "cat is out of the bag," the more experienced locator feels cheated. It kills the morale of that experienced locator and the poison it generates is passed along like wildfire to the rest of the locators in that team. It really pisses me off when I get that telephone call from a 2 year vet telling me a noob is making more money then them. I don't want to hear it because I really don't give a shit. And, more times than not, that "offended" veteran locator eventually quits............ It happens way too often.
That being said, I was told (without asking, I must say) the pay of a CUS locator. The USIC pay, and benefit package, is a much better deal for the CUS locators. But, like anything in life, the better pay and better benefits come with strings attached......... Be prepared for a little more challenging work. Just sayin'.

We were told by our DM this year that no one making over $18 per hr got a 'raise'. We all got some little 'pay adjustment' and are supposed to receive more in October. We have already found out that wasn't the whole truth. Like Wing said, nothing is set is stone.
