    Thumbs up "Tagging" a line.

I know I'm not the only one who's come up with graffiti like labels for the different utility companies I locate for. I like when I'm walking past a locate I recently did, and I see someone studying my marks.

The only local ones I've seen that are close are the water companies, and they just draw a smiley face where the meter/valve is.

    Let's see 'em?

I'd be surprised if someone couldn't identify this one off the bat.

I never tagged my marks unless the ticket was for a contractor I knew, the rest I left to figure it out from the flags.

At one company I worked for a few years ago, after 9/11 we were asked by our client NOT to tag fiber optics separately from their copper lines for security reasons. Big phone companies are notoriously paranoid I guess. Anyway, we developed a sort of code among our office so we could tell the marked fibers on sight.

    It looked like this
