Default From Supervisor's Notebook - Preface

Having worked for years as both a locator and a supervisor / foreman I have seen it from both sides.

I will be posting a series I have titled 'From Supervisor's Notebook'.

Two years. I have not forgotten a minute of it. So I am recent enough in the supervisor position to remember all the details and feelings of when I just located.

i have seen this alos, as soon as they get promoted they forget everything they have learned the heard way.

My first post is on overtime and what I posted is not the company line, it is simply the characteristics of our job.

For those of you following / replying to my Supervisor's Notebook threads remember this; These are not specific to any one company or office, they broadly cover the industry. Because it is not being done that way at your office does not make my post wrong, it may only mean your office / company may be doing things wrong.

You will find that most of what I write is not confined to the locate industry and will apply to most jobs in most industries.
