    Default Spray and Retirement-

You can un-bunch your pantys now-

As announced earlier in the year, USIC will be making a discretionary company match equal to 75% of the first 1% of wages that an employee had deferred under the 401K Plan in 2008. USIC will make this payment on April 20, 2009 and employees will see the contribution in their account approximately one week later. A special account statement will be mailed to eligible participant’s homes in early May. AN EMPLOYEE MUST HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE 401(K) PLAN AND MET PLAN REQUIREMENTS IN 2008 TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS COMPANY CONTRIBUTION.

In the coming months employees will receive information about new investment funds which will be offered within the plan. USIC’s Investment Committee looks at the funds in our plan on a quarterly basis to ensure our fund performance is appropriate given market conditions. USIC is currently working on an improved fund line up that will allow participants new choices in funds and in some instances, lower administrative fees.

Employees not currently participating in the 401(k) may enroll on-line at www.oneamerica.com after completing 90 days of service. We encourage employees to participate in the USIC 401(k) Plan as it is a great way to save for retirement in light of the matching funds that USIC provides in addition to employee contributions and the taxes saved in the year in which contributions are made. All this adds up quickly.

As always, Human Resources can answer any questions about this valuable benefit!

To tell the truth, I don't participate in the USIC 401K . We made the decision years ago to increase our contibution to my wife's retirement account as she will probably outlive me. Also, I have $$ in Ira's plus we both have retirement coming from previous employers in addition to Soc. Sec.(if King Hussein doesn't spend that 1st)
I might not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was !

Employer based 401k's are only really worth it if the company matches and good percentage. otherwise you are better off doing getting one on your own, your investment company can offer a lot more options that will fit what you want for your retirement and don't have to worry if you switch jobs. That is just my opinion and who am I Riiight.
