got one today. 40 in a 30. east baton rouge sheriff's office. dickhead cop, you could tell the only reason he became a cop is because,throughout his adolesency a triple digit number identified the juvenile element that broke his will, so he hides behind a gun and badge.

tell you one thing, I wouldn't want that useless cop having to use his non existant courage to save me, in any kind of way. that guy looked like a complete ****ing coward who would be afraid to use his weapon. scuse the french.

Anyone remember this

I have had time to reflect on this a bit... but yesterday I was in a new subdivision expansion... had my cones out... vest on and was marking the sewer main & laterals when a truck came by and just about picked me off. I didn't even realize he almost hit me until the slight breeze I got from the truck (it was within 5" of me) got my attention and the truck swerved drastically to the left. You would think with all of the contractor trucks, the heavy equipment and delivery trucks that the driver would slow down and pay more attention to what was going on...

Does anyone know if we are considered the same as a highway construction worker? Here in IL if you hit one of them it is a hefty fine and jail.

ChiTown. YES!! as of April 1st. a amendment to the Hwy Workers Safety Act went in to affect. HOWEVER, it states that the area you are in must have some sort of sineage ( Construction, Survey, Utility, ETC.) not just cones. Also in the same amendment anyone asaulting a utility worker or agents thereof (us) while in the course of their duties will have a Ag. charge added to whatever other charge is filed. That makes it a felony in IL.
