Be sure to stay on "plan". We don't want your production slipping just because of a little weather event.
I might not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was !

The winds just started picking up around here. I'm not looking forward to digging out peds, handholes, and manholes from 5-10 foot drifts.
ahh I love seasonal layoff no using a propane torch to melt ice around fiber vaults no late nite call outs NO CELL PHONE!
Interstate 70, the main roadway across the state of Missouri, has been closed Tuesday by the Missouri Department of Transportation.
MoDOT had closed I-70 in mid-Missouri earlier in the day and even pulled its snowplows off the interstate due to whiteout conditions. The closing only affected I-70 in 3 counties until later in the afternoon when the decision was made to close the entire interstate from St. Louis to Kansas City. MoDOT says the blizzard has made I-70 impassable. MoDOT states in a news release that the action will keep motorists from becoming stranded on the interstate. MoDOT says it will continue to plow statewide as conditions allow.

Man - I don't see how you guys up north handle winter 6 months out of the year!
Monday Kansas City got about a tenth of an inch of ice and Tuesday we got close to 12" of snow. My team didn't work Tuesday due to the ice and snow.
I am the guy that pulled the short straw to be on call during the worst snow storm to hit Missouri in decades! I had 3 call-outs today.
I just now returned from a 140 mile round-trip, night-time call-out. I marked a telephone fiber while walking thru knee-deep, fresh snow for a water main break 70 miles south of my house. I drove through heavy snowing mixed with a 30 to 40 mph breeze. It was divided highway for me the entire way, but I had to maneuver a single lane virtually the entire distance; weaving through drifts and encountering areas of total white-outs. I saw 2 tractor-trailers in ditches with many abandoned cars and pickups also in ditches. I made it home without incident but needless to say, this call-out was not fun.
You guys north and east of me are in for a real treat. My town just got touched by the northern edge of this storm and we got a foot of snow!
Tomorrow the wind will die down here with a morning temperature at -12 degrees. I don't know how you northerners do it, day after day..............

My cars are drifted in. Hell I can't even get out of the patio door.

Every vehicle is drifted in at this point. Looks like we got about 20 inches or so here, but it is hard to tell from the drifts. My neighbour next door has the front of his home drifted over completely. Snow from the lawn to the roof.
