    Default Retrieving Old Flags-

I would hope we wont be requisitioned by State DOT, County, or Municipal Reps for littering as a result of placing abundant amounts of flags with no intent of retrieval...

Not trying to open a fresh paint can type issue or anything...

    Its not in my nature...

Right in the our one calls Excavators Guide it states that it is the excavators responsibility to remove flags when work is complete in WI. There are actually only a few of them that follow the rule though.

They requested the flags be put there. It should be their responsibility to remove them. Maybe if they were made to remove the flags they would stop over calling in each job because it would be more work for them to retrieve all the flags.

I figured you wouldn't believe me so I found the guide. It is the last Q&A on page 4.

Down here in Texas we just wait for the lawn boys to run over them with their mowers.

They pick them up so they can use them at the next site - when they cut a perfectly marked line, then backdrag all the paint, throw a couple of flags about ten feet away, and point the finger at you know who.........

The best one is when a contractor rearranges the new sod that was just put down to make it look like the marks are off by 5' or so.
