    Default Resume

Any fellow locators know how to spice up a resume in all the work we do? Reading utility blue prints and so on.

    Thanks in advance

    You mean Lie?

    j/k

You want to use key words and phrases. You no longer are a locator, you are now a Locate Techician, or better yet a Underground Utility Technician. The longer the name the better it sounds. You want to highlight any training and certificates you may posess. You were trainined by your company so you can state that you were Trained Certified Technician by National Locating company of your choice.

List all the programs on the computer you use. Autodesk, OSP, anything that will hold a map.

For the skill portion, use key phrases again... Multi-tasking, Time management, Task Oriented, etc..

The biggest thing to do is catch their attention. Put a coffee stain on it or sign the cover letter with a crayon. Something to get their attention.

Any average or better locator should be able to use the following qualities and phrases without having to lie.

Efficient routing, stress management, self motivated, team player, independant, reliable, detail oriented, works daily with tight deadlines, and professional. I am sure that others on this site could add many attributes to this list.

May even throw in that the smallest mistake in your current profession could get someone killed. That outta grab someone's attention.
