    Default RD433HCTx-2 Question

I just bought a new-to-me, used RD400 set. The thing checked out fine on 8k and when I went to switch to the next frequency, the transmitter started throwing error codes indicating too much voltage on the target line. It was connected to the ground wire on my phone drop to my house - no voltage there, I've checked.

When the TX powers up it shows a code "T-09" for a second or two. Can't find any info to tell me if this is an error code anywhere. After checking through the rest of the frequencies, they all have this same problem, and no signal output. Even the 8k goes funky after a few minutes. Good thing I bought from a reputable source and should have a guarantee, but...

Does anyone here have any experience with this particular beast? I'm used to the old plain Jane RD400 transmitters. You know, the ones with actual knobs and controls you can actually feel when you operate them. I knew I should have help out for something I was more familiar with.

The 400 is fast becoming a thing of the past. We have cannibalized the last few remaining ones in the DFW area and are basically trashing what few we have remaining as they fail. Also, no new parts are being manufactured. Take Yahoo's advise and put your $ into something else.

I don't know what is wrong but my boss carries a 433 transmitter as a backup up and it does the same thing as yours does but the big boss is with yahoo and spray junk it.

Thanks guys, I had the same gut reaction (trash it) the other night and after posting the question, threw the beast back in the box it came in and arranged for a swap the next morning. The replacement is a Sure-Lock All-Pro. I've got good memories of my time with a Sure-Lock in the past. Should have it by Tuesday. Luckily I bought this thing from a reputable shop rather than an individual - I learned my lesson the hard way about that years ago.

Never did like those digital RD's anyway, must have been temporarily insane when I made that decision, but looks like it's going to work out anyway.
