Positive merger news

I thought that since we see so much negative information out there about the merger, I would share some positive things.

I also thought I would mention how sad it makes me to see that nobody else is bringing any of these things out in the open but are very quick to complain about the negative aspects of the merger.

1) USIC paid out a bonus to field employees in Illinois for the headaches we are suffering

2) I have seen a lot of people working together in the field..... SM&P & CLS helping one another on difficult or long locates. They are sharing contact information, contractor info, telling each other when things are not buried joint.

3) Contractors in Illinois have told me that they are happy that we are merging. They like having one point of contact for all four utilities. They also like the idea that USIC will be able to use the best ideas from both companies to make things better in Illinois.

I have more positive things as I am sure many others do as well. I hope some of you will follow my lead & talk about some of the good things that are happening out there.

nicely said, in a time of economic recession, I am sure there would be alot of people out there who would dream to think they could be not only getting 40 + hours a week, by staying in a company that is growing hugely. I know we all like to vent and this site is a great forum for that, but maybe we should also give Kudo's to teammates, sups and managers that actually do a good job and take care of their people too, balance it out a little?

I would also like to mention that I was told that we are going from a two week training course to a four week training course so the trainees get more time in the field with the trainer. I think this is great news because we all know that it is hard to run your normal ticket load and do all the field training on top of it.

i thought cls completly lost their name to smp....would that be the same thing....??? what i am asking is does the name cls still exist??

It does for right now. Everyone in the state of Illinois will soon operate under the SM&P name.

Who knows, we might all change our name at some point.

If we do, I would like to change mine to..... Sparkly Diamond

Doesn't every woman love a Sparkly Diamond?

Let's not also forget USIC's stance on the non-stickered company vehicles. It is really nice to see they are looking at ways to save money in other ways instead of just pushing the locators. Taking away all the gas guzzlers and replacing them with hybrids and plain out taking away a ton of the company vehicles from non revenue generating personal is a very smart move on their part.

I was happy as hell with that as well golden its a hell of an idea hope they stick to it I remember way way back in the day when the dm got a taurus and the rest didnt get nothin now they all get vehicles cept dispatch.

Not me, no way! I'd change my name to "Filthy Rich" . I'd bet filthy rich would trump sparkly diamond.
