I have a cousin that is one of the top commanders of this new Air Base in Hungary...

This is a very incredible airship. This is an American made aircraft, piloted by American aviators in and out of American taxpayer funded landing strips, transporting American supplies to American troops rolling on FRENCHIE tires........ What BULLSHIT!

Its a pretty well thought-out aircraft. Even Canada bought a handfull recently (and we dont even have any money really.. what with buying busted up subs and all that..). The '17 has an impressive range combined with pretty short t/o and landing specs considering the max loads.

A quote from a cdn pilot of the C-17.. "Some of the tactical approaches we can make with this aircraft are pretty wild."

And ya know, Canadians have a bizarre perspective on things.. so "pretty wild" is certainly an understatement.. prolly akin to a US pilot saying "J.C., what a F'n ride !!

Am I drunk, or did SIC1 make sense?

Wing, I completely agree with you on that one. I only put tires made here on my vehicle. Ya think the US government would do the same. Like my neighbor that tells me he bought a honda that was made here. Well, last time I checked, didn't the money end up back in Japan?

I have said this before in another post but is it REALLY THAT MUCH OF A SUPRISE?
Our ammunition is from another country.
Our light and medium machine guns (M-249 and M-240 Bravo) are from Belgium design (FN).
Beretta is Italian (granted it is made here).
Our CAMO pattern ISN'T EVEN OUR OWN (Canada developed digital camo first).

The very fact you are on this web site clearly indicates you left the plane with a parachute! Would my assumption be correct??

You would be correct sir! There is nothing cooler than standing in the door at 500 ft. lookin out into pitch black darkness (night jump) with that red light above you and the warm air from the engines mixing with the cool night air. The light turns green and yells of GO! GO ! GO! echo through the plane. You jump and count to 4 feeling the momentum of the plane and gravity pulling you down while your chute is opening. It opens, you look up to check the risers and look for good air in your chute and it becomes DEAD SILENT as you drop to the ground. IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!

A good friend of mine is ex military who carried on parachuting after leaving the forces. You could just tell from his passion he absolutely loved it.
