Nothing pissed me off more then??????

Nothing would piss me off more then a contractor calling in one locate ticket to cover a whole complex. I would have to arrainge a meet let the jug head know that what he was doing was against the florida state sunshine laws. provide him with the book that would provide him with the right info to follow lose at least an hour of my day meeting this knuckle head especially if I had the same meeting with the same knucklehead last week about the same friggin thing. HECK I"M PISSED JUST THINKING ABOUT IT NOW AND I DON'T EVEN LOCATE ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always like when a homeowner calls in a locate to locate their backyard and they have a 6 foot fence that's all locked up with no way in and they are never home. And when you call them to let them know they'll need to leave the gate unlocked the next day they wonder why.

And when a homeowner calls in to locate their backyard and there is so much dog shit in the yard it is almost impossible to do the locate. I can't believe some of these people don't get complaints from their neighbors. It's bad when you know they have a dog because you can smell all the crap when you are still in the fromt yard getting your equiptment out.

I've heard of ways to deal with contractors that dont want to work with the locator...quite a few extra orange and red marks seem to get their attention.

Most major contractors now are willing to be more detailed when called to ask to narrow down the "actual" work area and some even white line. The rest just get more paint.

Some certain members of management that feel that if they send more emails, that they can not be replaced. No one could ever do their job. Plus these boobs need to learn proper grammar (these asshats couldn't figure how to spell grammar). Plus the sad part is that they have spell and grammar check. If you need something to do, please get out behind your friggin desk and do some "REAL" locating.

I love this. Mark and protect the lines that are actually there and throw in a few more just to "keep it safe". lol. Keep 'em digging for DAYS!!!

*evil grin* I marked a trench with res. F/O in it today...a 216s and 7 6s tails...EVERY cable got a mark...nothing like 8 lines making a 10ft. corridor PLUS the Elec. and CATV...can you say hand-dig across 14 ft. ? *evil grin*

contractors that meet with you go over the job completley have a great meeting get them to sign the meet report work to begain on a certian date. you go mark the area the contractor don't show up until two weeks after your marks have faded and calls in an emergency locate for fresh marks then acts like it is my fault, glad I had them sign the meet sheet..

A lot of the excess locate calls could be stopped by the One Call, but since they charge Members by the ticket why would they want to reduce ticket output or reduce grids to only include actual conflict tickets? Every day we get tickets that exceed what the law allows, and we are the ONLY people that have the clock ticking on us. When I call and complain I am told "in the spirit of damage prevention we took the call". How about equal enforcement of the law and stop just rolling everything down to the locate contractor??
