Utiliquest now has most of the area. I think it is Accumark that has the VDOT contract. Work in DC besides Utiliquest is a company I think called DPI, people seem to like working for them. I think it was PinPoint that had water in northern Virginia but I have not seen them around, may have lost it. Novec, Northern Virginia Electric Coop is inhouse.

It is a big state, check around. Underground Utility Locating Contractors | Miss Utility of Virginia

One other thing, this is one of the highest costs of living areas in the country. Housing prices are so high we have locators that travel 50 to 60+ miles a day to get in their work area, can't afford to live closer. Check out kw.com to get an idea.

Pinpoint has the DC water contract and Prince Georges county in MD. Double H Locates has Fairfax county water which also is the City of Falls Church and City of Fairfax under one contract. They also have the Town of Vienna water and a fiber contract.

ya, MD is out for a lot of reasons, looking in the Winchester VA area right now and trying to "nudge" the wife a bit further. So far housing looks ok, rents about the same, but buying looks better then here.
