This happened this week in a Kansas City suburb. We call this construction worker, "The Guy who rode the SHITTERBAUN."

This guy was standing in a gravity-fed sanitary sewer box @ 8:15 am. There was maybe 1" of flow down the 27" sanitary trunk line when he stood in the vault. Little did he know there was 3 rapid-fire shots of 3,000 gallons each of raw sewage from the up-stream lift station heading his way.

The first shot knocked his legs out from under him setting him up for a feet-first mile-long ride down the trunk line. The force from the initial hit was hard enough to pull his boots and socks off his feet! The next two hits knocked him down the concrete tube banging past 24 manhole vaults along the way.

The rescuers were surprised to find the rider still alive. Reason #1.) The trunk line is 80% methane sewer gas and only 20% oxygen. The guy should have suffocated before he was found. Reason #2.) The rough ride should have knocked him out causing him to drown in sewage. Reason #3.) The vault he was carried out of was the last vault on the sewer line before it went under a lake to oblivion.

As soon as the firefighter set this guy on the ground, the guy vomited "material" he ingested along the way.............. The guy's a mess (he is in critical condition fighting a lung infection as of now) and I hope he survives his injuries. I'm sure he will be a wealthy man if he can walk out of the hospital.
