    Default New equipment

I know I am not locating right now but I try to stay upto date with new technology, Has anyone tried out RD'S New 7000 series? If it work as good as it look it will be a really good tool to have. They are also coming out with a new GPR it looks like a Lawnmower but not as bulkey as some of the other systems I have seen. I wonder what the odds are of them letting me do a product test for them???....

Listen, I'm sitting at a 1 in40,000+ damage ratio doing approx 400 locates a week - I'll keep using the 400 until they pry it from my cold - er -until they can't repair it anymore

A buddy of mine is a RD sales rep in the southeast and he brought the RD 7000, RD 8000 and the new GPR system and I was inpressed. I have mainly used Metrotech products over the years and Mala GPR systems and I would say that the new RDs are very well designed and the GPR is as good if not better than the Mala unit I use every day. Not sure where you are located but I have always been able to get a demo unit from sales reps for a few weeks at a time to try out new equipment.

RD has also re-done the 4000. The newbies are getting them here in Texas - they look like the original 4000 but are lighter. (But I'm still hanging on to my 400)

Yahoo- I have been using the Mala on everything form unmarked graves to AC water lines. Started using it in 2003 after I got out of contract locating and jumped in to SUE.

Which do you have? The 1 watt or the 5 watt.
