Default My prediction for contract locating telcos over next decade-

    BIG $ SQUEEZE, lookout!!!

With the wireless war escalation getting underway, copper extraction might be more valuable than service use...

    http://online.barrons.com/article/SB...d=yahoobarrons

I really dont see how buried copper cables can maintain value...

Lord knows what locating prices will be going forward as wireless becomes cheaper and cheaper and telcos need to cut costs to stay competitive...

    This-
    http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Offici...56203.html?x=0

depending on the outcome, will also be a blow to the existing telcos financial well being that most of us work for...

So dont wonder why our jobs get uglier as this pricing depreciation increases...

I'm gonna have to agree with you on that one. Phone, someday, will be a minor player in the locating industry.

Remember , wireless is limited on #'s of channels and speed of data transfer. Until there is some major breakthrough in both of these hard-wiring, mainly fiber, will still be required. As far as low use residential use then I believe copper will be totally abandoned in the near future and fiber will be the mainstay.
