    Default My Day... compressed

Just for fun I filmed (archaic term) my entire day using a camera with time lapse capability. It is compressed down to 5 min and 24 sec. It is kinda cool. I didn't realize how much time I spent on the road.

I thought it was great, only one suggestion, park your truck so your camera catches you working a little more often. Those sequences were really good. The movie as a whole was very good. Why do you have no snow in Idaho? I also got a kick out of the "Mardi Gras Celebration" in the one shopping center you drove through......Mardi Gras in Idaho....funny.

I actually did try to park so I could catch everything I do. Most of the time I would walk in front of the camera on my way to an area I couldn't catch on camera.

Also, I had about 60% ok's (or site visits) depending on what you refer to a ticket with nothing to locate.

No snow. The earth is warming, haven't you heard. We generally don't have snow this time of year. Early December to Late January are the snow times.

I missed the Mardi Gras sign. I will view it again.

Kind of reminded me of the old Benny Hill Show - without the comedy - and the good looking girls -and the funny little bald guy,

You might want to consider removing the video from youtube.

Someone in management may want to get rid of you and need not be your foreman. Could be someone from corporate sees it and orders you gone.

Look closely at company requirements and policy for things that may show up in such a video. Such as no hard hat when in a construction area, no traffic safety vest, no traffic safety cones, no clothing with company logo or God knows what. Now the things I mentioned are just some examples and they need not apply at your firm. Just consider what does apply and remember that that video can be used against you any time, even years from now.

That first stop I made was at the bosses house. We meet in his garage every morning. No corporate office to speak of. He doesn't even have a coffee maker. He is the owner of the locating company. If you look very closely you can see him make a face in front of the camera. You have to pause it at just the right moment.

I'm the only one in the company... out of Ed, Tami, and myself that wears a safety vest. I think I'm the only one that owns a hard hat. I only have those items so the contracters don't get dinged by OSHA if I happen to be there at the same time as them. I don't wear it all the time, though. If you look closely you can see that I'm wearing tennis shoes.

I work for a person who doesn't care what I do as long as I get my work done and enjoy my job. I do both.

I completely understand your concerns, though. We had some youtube videos posted here a while back where a locator made some personal videos using the company truck and equipment. I heard he got in trouble but I think that is up for debate. I think his wife said he quit and wasn't fired or something like that. I don't know. My memory sucks.

I didn't really notice how much I drove until I watched it the first time.

That is so cool. I like the construction site footage with the machines moving so fast.

It is amazing how much driving we do. Once winter is gone then I don't have to drive as much but in the winter my area is so big I probably spend 75 percent of my time driving.

Just too easy to step on a hidden nail in a construction site (or a broken bottle in ditch grass etc).. I stepped on a nail wearing runners at a job site once (my own house actually..lol)..
Good set of boots.. maybe $120 ? Would last 3 yrs anyhow. $40/yr is cheap foot insurance.

    Just my 002.
(May you live in interesting times)
