Hey scrappy - Welcome to the'Vine! I hope you stay with us and post often!

I've been with SM&P/USIC in Kansas City, Missouri since 1997 and I can't imagine working for anyone else. Marking the location of utility lines has been a good fit for me and I love it.

Digging contractors, utility workers and fellow locators are part of a unique and close knit fraternity of outdoorsmen/ladies................. Sure, there will always be a few a-holes in each category, but the vast majority of us are family looking out for each other.

Consolidated is a good company, I'm sure, but does not offer the total package as does USIC. The training, support, company vehicle size, job security and benefits (especially medical, vision and dental coverage) are no where close to the same level as USIC's. I know enough about Consolidated to say if I had a choice between Consolidated and USIC in western Missouri or eastern Kansas, I would choose USIC without hesitation............
