    Default Metrotech 810 design change

No "major" change and some of you may know this already but it seems the Metrotech 810 has changed from the slim transmitter box to the fat, bulky 850 box.... to cut cost on manufacturing two different plastic boxes. The salesman didn't even know himself. I guess the factory doesn't run this by the guys who know what the consumers want. I guess since the 850 has a large motherboard, the 850 is the one they will go with.

I ordered 25 and was not happy when I received them...not knowing about the design change. They are using foam board to fill in the void areas where the 810 trans guts don't fill it up. And the same small battery lid from the 810 that doesn't keep the batteries down tight. I feel over time it will become loose and therefore more opportunity for failure. They already take enough abuse.

Crazy!!!! I wonder if this means my old 810 will be a collector item soon?? I doubt it!!!!!

The 810 is 29 years old. That stuff is going to happen.
