    Default Longest, most ignorant locate??

Mine was 7 miles putting in a lath every 5m with a 5m offset. almost 70 bundles (50 sticks per) and took 9 days.

Did I mention there was 3 ft of snow and it was in the Rockies off the Alaska Highway in January?

They were putting an old lease back to bed (abandonment) and needed to get a service rig in to 'complete' the well. There was a 20" midsteam line and the owners were very sensitive to equipment near their line.

    It was rude.

A subdivision of over 200 houses almost all under construction. A single ticket to install anything and everything in all the yards including the ones where all work had been completed. One ticket that would have taken all day to mark.

The idiot was like the owner of the company's son or son in-law. I told him to call in only the locations where an active dig was being done and he told me he would do as he damn well pleased.

So it just turned out there was always one un-locatable gas service somewhere which required I send for an as-built of that property. Usually this took one to two weeks to get that. Since I could not complete the ticket there was no point in marking anything and the entire ticket stayed open. The smug sob figured out that to get work done he could not do as he damn well pleased after the crews could not dig.

7miles of rural highway, no shoulder. For deliniators.

UnionLocator, Its fine to have that attitude for Surveys. I would rather have a locator not mark at all for a survey, then to mark incorrectly. I just got done marking about a mile of new road for our survey guys to go out and designate easments. They called in a survey ticket and the utilities marked. I went out to help the survey crew make sense out of the marks and not only were the marks every 200' or so, they were about 10' off of the utilities. It looked like the power company went out and drew a straight line between vaults and the other locators tossed a stripe down next to theirs. Which is fantastic since the utilities were not burried jointly, and again I had to mark tons of crap that wasn't mine to locate. That sounds harmless enough, except that we have been threatened with sanctions for locating utilities that are not ours to locate. Thats the PUC working for you to protect the underground infrastructure.
