Dude needs to check his facts. That Ranger is 2wd, and definitely does not have off-road suspension. If he had flags in there, it would be squatting low enough that he'd scrape most driveways. And I don't care how organized the back of his truck looks there, once he drives around for 5 minutes, it'll be a heaping mess.

The Ford Ranger is offered with a 4WD option. I would have to look closer to see if the one in the video is so equipped but not worth the effort.

Some contract locate firms buy a few 4WD's for snow or when needed for specific sites, the one's that I am aware of no longer practice this type of inventory of 4WD vehicles. I did work at one firm that had a small 4WD in each office. I was put into it for running emergencies during heavy snows when the office was shut down.

So.... Just from what I see, I have to call BS on it being a 4wd. As for it being a "Spoof"... it better be. No real locator would put this on you tube. None of the equipment or the truck has any signs of wear. Even when I got new rigs, my equipment showed signs of how much I used it. I love the metal detector. Does USIC actually give those out as standard Equipment?

I should toss a video out here about what a horrible locator needs;

1) beat up 92 ford ranger with utility bed
2) everything is covered in dust
3) Too busy to organize anything
4) Empties all over the place
5) 6 cases of paint
6) drops of paint and wear on the reciever as well as the paint gun.
7) Cones from the local county road department
8)..... To be continued

I looked at the video and it seems too plain. There is a bunch of stuff missing. The transmitter is missing. There is no equipment for entering manholes. Assuming they are doing phone where ever he is. He is stocked up on a lot of yellow paint and some orange. Yellow and orange flags as well. So, maybe he isn't doing phone. And I gotta agree with him... those are some damn fine cones.

It does seem a little like a spoof, but he may be thinking what I was thinking when I first started locating. I thought I had the best job that ever was. I felt that way for several years. I don't know if I would have made a video, but he seems all jacked up.
