I have two transmitters I use. Almost never pull out the big ole rd. So I just now noticed I left in on some churches meter a week ago. It's gone... I take they can make me pay for it? It is my fault.....

You should call the church to see if they just took it in for safe keeping. It's a long shot, but I've had something similar happen to me before.
Same thing happened to me. A home owner saw my gear out by their drive way so they brought it inside until I came back around.

I left mine on a side of a bar. Bar owner came out for a smoke and heard it and saw red lights in the dark next to his gas meter. Hazmat police took it off the service and one of the cops' wife works for the gas company so he called her. i had to go to the cop shop and fill out some paperwork and got it back. Left the receiver once and a neighbor saw the kids playing with it and took it from them. SAw me the next day checking all around the houses and asked what i was looking for and returned it t me
You should passively locate all of your pole utility tickets so the transmitter never gets lost again.
Works for me. Never lost a transmitter when all it does is sit in the trunk lol.

Sweeeet. I friggin found it. Clamped to a cable next to highway on a county road bout 2ft from the road, for the last month. Musta drove past it 5 times, never noticed it till I had to go back and clamp it again.
"Sorry guys, got rained on and needs repaired" lol
Got a call after hours one night from a fellow locator. "Hey bro, I left my transmitter hooked up to the CATV at the hospital can you go grab it for me?"
About a year later I'm telling this story to another locator, well I guess he was pretty entertained because when he pulled away from the house his transmitter was still hooked to the gas meter![]()
Glad you found it though. That would suuuuckk to lose your transmitter
We had a locator that they fired. Seemed to be surfing u tube and facebook and what ever at the local taco bell and was billing out tickets. Left his tailgate down at one of the tickets he went to and drove off with his rd-4000 on it, since he wasn't doing locates he didn't noticed that he lost it
That sucks but I would say he deserved it. If you are pencil wipping tickets then you are not doing your job.
