I'm a 12 year veteran locator and I complete 16 deep-dig tickets per day as a rule in a 5- to 8-way area. Telephone, CATV, electricity, gas and a local city fiber on all my tickets. Then I add Kansas City water, sewer and city owned street lights in my 8-way pockets.

4-10.....Mostly non locates.... Irrigation and small electrical.
but, to my defense, One-call is just one part of what I do.
I have 15 on going projects ranging from Pavement rehab to a 2mile long runway overhaul. All of these projects I have to mark everything....or make sure I know where everything is and help one-call guys mark their utilities.
And while all this is going on, engineering and design issues for up-coming projects.

Depending on the ticket load, and the area I have, (changes everyday), anywhere from 10-50. Worst day in the last few months was 8, (3 entire streets) and best was 72 I think (almost all clears) Usually power and tele, some towns catv. Biggest reason for the wide range is that I am back-up for most towns around me, and my "normal" area has a WIDE swing in ticket load. (2-3 contractors like to call in up to 40 tickets @ a time)![]()
Average of 25 whith 3-4 utilities
I seek not to know the answers, but to understand the questions.
on an average 10- 15/ 2 utilities
every day that passes with these new drivecams i would like to change my answer to one less........ha!!!

Would it not make sense to have a dispatcher for you guys, that could look at maps and clear some of the easy/obvious ones ? If we didnt have a dispatcher, I bet we'd have to double our compliment.
(May you live in interesting times)
