Default The Good, Bad, and Ugly of the "Flood of 2009"

As most of y'all know, Georgia has been hit with some major rain that has led to some major flooding.... so of course we have to vent! lol

The Good: You get a hell of a ground when you hook up, and We got a day off (extended weekend).

The Bad: Having to take major detours to get places (esp. to go home)

The Ugly: All the mud! You know it sux having to get super muddy!

As a side thought... is it just me, or does it seem that they need a "big voice", like in car comercials, to announce this "Flood of 2009".

    Be Safe and stay dry!!

That really sucks. Hope it starts to dry out soon.

Yeah that Georgia mud sticks to EVERYTHING! I learned that lesson at Fort Benning!

As a matter of fact I think I have some uniforms with mud still on/in them and that was YEARS ago!!!!!!

Well, the good news is that the strong thunderstorms that they predicted to start today will not be here 'till the weekend. So, we do have a few days to dry out.
They predict that any strong widns will cause alot of these trees to be up-rooted.
And good news to me... they finally opened my road to my subdivision!! yay!! n more detours!

Hang on tight Baby Girl and good luck to you and your family. Keep us posted. I have been watching the Weather Channel very day to keep informed of the rain in GA and Texas.

16 inches in a 24 hour period just north of Atlanta in Cobb County. This whole area is in big trouble right now. I20 from the Alabama state line all the way to I285 in Atlanta is shut down with water over the road and many bridges weakened by the flooding. Multi-million dollars homes in Buckhead with water up to the roof line..........six confirmed fatalities and probably more to come once the water has gone down....

    Thanks Find-it...
Every body keeps joking about building an Ark, but I think I'll do fine.... 2 aluminum fishing boats and a canoe under the porch, a small 20' boat in the back, and a 32' pontoon on the lake... I'm prepaired. lol
Ok, they are all my dad's, but I do have access.
And John is def right about the flood updates. They actually opened up I-20 this afternoon.
Good thing the flooding is going down in the county I work in. I'll get some of those arm floaties and a cute animal swim ring if it should get bad out here again... do you think I could write those off as work expenses? haha

    Haha!
    No, Thank God!!
The flood areas have gone down. I saw on the news that the county I live in was the hardest hit. I'm glad I i live at the edge of that county, and am able to get to work easily.
